Thank you for stopping by for a visit into my world of electrolysis and beyond. Electrolysis is the process of removing unwanted hair permanently. The Electrologist is the operator – that’s me! The free dictionary explains Electrolysis this way: Destruction of living tissue, especially of hair roots, by means of an electric current applied with a needle-shaped electrode. Are you wondering how this happens? If so, then, good!
As a licensed Electrologist, I will aim to keep you abreast of the current information, as well as, stories of significance that support and dissect Electrolysis. I want to share insights about the field of Electrology, its history, the treatments and accounts of operators around the world who are passionate about their work and/or service. You’ll meet some amazing people!
My blog will share information about the various aspects within the field of Electrology and reasons why Electrolysis should be a household word. Seriously!
There will be days when I will need to take a break from talking about Electrology. Thus my choice of the word “beyond” in this first post title. If random topics appear in my blog, don’t worry, I will eventually get back to pertinent information about the field of Electrology but a little diversion will be a good thing.
I will do my best to help you discover why Electrolysis is the only option for permanent hair removal as stated from The American Electrology Association (aea).

Karen Pecota owned and operated an Electrology business (Electrolysis by Karen) using the A.R. Hinkel Blend Method with the Air Desensitizer for over ten years (1978 - 1989) – prior to opening Sand Point Electrolysis in Seattle, Washington. Electrolysis by Karen had locations in Bellevue, Federal Way, and Seattle. All locations were in the state of Washington.
Karen successfully sold the Electrolysis by Karen business in 1989 when her husband was transferred to Germany. Karen and her husband Steve, along with their two children, Kevin and Kathryn, lived abroad for eighteen years. The family has returned to the U.S.A.
A licensed Electrologist for over thirty years, Karen has opened a new Seattle office - Sand Point Electrolysis.
